Does anyone have one these> If so, maybe you can help. First off I've got a G4 last looks exactly like the Dual 1.25GHz processor, but only has one processor. I've got 1.75 GB DDR SDRAM and have figured out how to set up the Formac. Even though I have digital cable, the channels come in perfectly, but even though it's not set that way, when I tape a movie it always finishing with the name in quicktime icon.dv. Is that normal -- the settings are set to tape directly to quicktime, so why does it do that.
We have 2 computers in the house and we share a TW RoadRunner access. My computer is hardwired the Netgear wireless modem to connect to the Internet; my mom's PC connects wirelessly.
Unfortunately for me, if I want to tape something with the Formac, I have to disconnect the cable from the wireless modem to attach it to the Studio TVR. This means that we lose our connection to the Internet, and I can't even take advantage of the studio schedule for Titan TV which would allow be to slip slip my recordings. As it is now, if I want to tape a movie at 4:00am, I've got to get a before then, change the cable back to the TVR, watch the movie (or stay awake while it's on) then turn it off when the film's over. And if the movie is during the day or evening and I want to tape it, that leaves everyone else in the house with internet access.
)If anyone understands this -- I don't think I'm clear on the logistics --do you have any suggestions or solutions. I brought this to the attention of Formac the second time I used it (about 1 month ago), but have heard from them; and with the amount of time gone by, don't expect to.
I thought about a splitter off the original cable, but would that degrade the picture or slow down the internet?
Help anyone? Does anyone have any problems with the Formac Studio TVR?
Thanks for hearing me out!
