Can't help you on the file format being saved, but about the splitter, 
as long as you get a good quality splitter it should not degrade 
quality whatsoever.  Don't quote me on this but if I remember correctly 
for internet you just need a splitter that is good at up to 900MHz 
range and for the digital cable spectrum I'm not sure exactly.  You 
probably would be fine with a splitter that is good from 5MHz to 900Mhz 
but they're not expensive so I would recommend getting one that is good 
up to a 2GHz.  Go to home depot, usually cheapest and best place for 
splitters and some RG5 or RG6 cable.  Whole cost of cable and splitter 
should be no more than $40.

Internet, and I can't even take advantage of the studio schedule for 
Titan TV which would allow be to slip slip my recordings.  As it is 
now, if I want to tape a movie at 4:00am, I've got to get a before 
then, change the cable back to the TVR, watch the movie (or stay awake 
while it's on) then turn it off when the film's over.  And if the 
movie is during the day or evening and I want to tape it, that leaves 
everyone else in the house with internet access.

)If anyone understands this -- I don't think I'm clear on the 
logistics --do you have any suggestions or solutions.  I brought this 
to the attention of Formac the second time I used it (about 1 month 
ago), but have heard from them; and with the amount of time gone by, 
don't expect to.

I thought about a splitter off the original cable, but would that 
degrade the picture or slow down the internet?

Help anyone?  Does anyone have any problems with the Formac Studio TVR?
