Do you know the status in Classic of the following programs for Jaguar and or Panther? ( i.e. can documents (files) created in any or all of these be opened, changed, or manipulated in Classic?) Adobe Photoshop 6 Adobe Illustrator 8 Dreamweaver 4 MS Word 98 Thank you, Don --- end of quote --- In Panther all I'd use in Classic is Photoshop 5.5 and in my system it doesn't work well. I have no experience with the other apps. I use Photo 7 in Panther and it can open in either 9 or X, so you don't need Classic for it.
But I don't even like the way the system feels when Classic is running in Panther. It seems to keep trying to tell me something I don't need to know. In my experience, it works pretty well in Jaguar. Few problems that I recall with any program that doesn't need native 9 to run. I will also say that I still do most of my serious graphics work in 9 since I'm more comfortable with the printing procedures. Works better for me, at least with my Epson printer. On the other hand, if you are running a program in Classic, you can use the os 9 printer drivers just fine. I wonder if anyone else has seen the problem with Classic in Panther. It's almost as though they were trying to wean us off the old system. Wish I could be of more help. Rich -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
