Aloha....
If you have firewire on the G3, try connecting up to the G4 with target disk....boot up the G4 with a 6 pin to 6pin firewire cable connected to both....then boot up the G3 with the "T" key held down. The G3 HD will show up on the G4.....I have a desktop G3 with an orange micro USB and firewire card and it works that way..... same with powerbooks etc.

Might be the easier way to go unless you figure out what if going on...
Are you running any of the OS's with simple finder?

Try zapping pram and rebuilding desktop..... to see if that changes anything..

Steve

Unfortunately I am only using 9.2.2. So it has not been responding like
that, even in the Chooser. Any other suggestions?

Both of those have built in Firewire. If you're using OS X just hook them together with a fire wire cable and start the one up up as a firewire disk. Very easy, very slick. The 350 HD will show up on the new machine just as if it was an external drive. You can then drag and drop whatever you want, or use Carbon Copy Cloner to "clone" the old drive onto the new.
