My earlier description of the problem (as well as my syntax) was fogged by early
morning.

I'm trying to duplicate my 10.3.3 operating system on another drive in my Beige.
Carbon Copy Cloner copied everything but one partial file that I think has no
significance.

It boots but gives me a log-in window that won't accept my name and password.
When I boot from an install disk and select Change Password, no users are
available on the new system, though two other osX sustems sshow users (panther
and jaguar.)

I tried using Disk Utility to fix permissions. I tried cloning the whole thing
again. Same results.

I can't see how I can get it working without reinstalling from the original
install disk. I'm using the latest version of CCC and just installed the latest
security update on my working 10.3.3.

Help!
