BellSouth DSL (was Re: Broadband Access)

Just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone on the list who has access to 
BellSouth DSL service; this week they announced a new, faster 
connection for $5 more a month, claiming it would give up to 3.0 MBps 
speeds. ("FastAccess DSL Xtreme"

Well, believe it or not, for once they delivered what they promised. I 
signed up, it was upgraded sometime today, and the C|Net Bandwidth 
Meter (http://reviews.cnet.com/7004-7254_7-0.html) just reported the 
connection speed at 2268 kbps. Darn zippy.

Worth the money if you do a lot of downloading, or like me, you just 
drink too much coffee and find yourself screaming at the microwave to 
"HURRY UP!!"
