I have a B&W G3 with an XLR8-G4/466 CPU (runs at 450 in the B&W). Bought the CPU on eBay for USD138. Installation was a breeze and my B&W runs a =lot= quicker! Installed the CPU with the original heat-sink and no extra fan.
The system is an original B&W G3/300, Rev1 , 6 Gb oem master drive. Added the XLR8 G4 CPU, 1 Gb ram, and a Maxtor 60 Gb-7200 rpm slave drive. Running OS 9.2.2 on the 6 Gb and OSX 10.2.8 on the 60. Panther is on the way.
Not world class, but =real= nice!

Hello:

I am making plans to put a G4 inside this machine.

I was wondering, what kinds of speeds G4 were people able to put in ?

And, do you need a new heat sink? With or without a fan?

Where did you get these G4s?

So, if you have been there, done that, please give your 2 cents.

Thanks
