Dunno if you've got it working yet, if not try uninstalling any third-party hardware such as PCI cards (f.e. SCSI), video cards and RAM, this was a problem with OS X 10.0 and 10.1, didn't have this problem with 10.2 and 10.3 though with my B&W G3. OS X is picky about RAM so I should uninstall that extra RAM first.
Hmmmm, The only un-factory crap it has is the extra memory. So, I guess I should start with 128MB and work my way up.
