I'm here downloading photos from the camera, but when done I'm out the door; here's some pointers though.
It's not hard, set up the service in your iTunes, then connect to your IP from either Windows or MAc iTunes player. This will work for sure. I'll bet $ to doughnuts that WinAmp will work, too.
If you are running a router behind your DSL modem, then you will have also to open up a port to forward iTunes traffic to your G4. This is done by reading 1st the docs for iTunes to find out which port to open, then reading the docs for your router (it's just a big web interface for the router, and a big SETTINGS tab that says "PORT FORWARDING" :) You'll have to forward the traffic to the LAN IP not the WAN IP of course.
Hope this is enough to get you going. What you are doing is:
opening up a server on the MAc (the iTunes sharing thing) then making sure that people outside your LAN can see it, by:
opening a hole in your router for traffic to enter. You specify the port to use for iTunes traffic, and the destination IP (the LAN IP of your G4) for the traffic on that port to go to. This is called "port forwarding" in your router manual or online help topics.
That's all there is to it! Unless your DSL provider is blocking the port, of course :) but that isn't likely. DSL isn't as fast as cable so the serving might be a little choppy.
Really, 10 min with google or the help files for your setup should suffice.
