I am trying to do a configuration file for an emulator running in OS X. Can anyone tell me how to properly designate a drive/path in OS X?
Paths in OS X are straight unix, they use '/' as the directory separator, and all mounted volumes are placed in the directory tree, in OS X's case, it's at /Volumes/...
Here's a directory listing of mine:
[dbdev2:~] johnson% ls -l /Volumes/ total 104 lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 1 28 Jun 14:08 BigWerx -> / drwxrwxr-x 19 root admin 646 2 Jul 15:19 Userland drwx------ 1 johnson admin 16384 20 Apr 10:26 pint drwx------ 1 johnson admin 16384 25 Jun 16:08 prodoracle drwxr-xr-x 15 johnson unknown 466 23 Jun 15:15 workgroups drwx------ 1 johnson admin 16384 23 Jun 15:06 www
BigWerx is my boot drive, and you can see it's linked to / the root directory. (so technically, /Volumes/Bigwerx/Users/johnson/Desktop/testfile.pdf and /Users/johnson/Desktop/testfile.pdf refer to the same file, testfile.pdf, sitting on my desktop.)
Userland is my second hard drive, the others are mounted network volumes.
