that repetitive clicking is the power supply turning on and off. it thinks it's over loaded so it shuts down and then tries to restart and repeats. the power supply is probably bad, or you are trying to draw too much power. the screen freezing could be from a power supply problem or ram that needs to be removed, have the contacts cleaned and reinstalled, i've run into that on many machines. the next step would probably be to ask for a power supply on the swap list.
