Hi folks,
As a newbie in this area, I need some help relative to the mechanics of partitioning a hard drive. Have a clean 40gig drive that I wish to partition so as to load both OSX and OS-9, but haven't a clue on how to proceed. Any/all help appreciated.
Boot from the system CD, either OS 9 or OS X.
Under OS X select Disk Utility from the menu, and the drive setup is pretty self explanatory.
You want to create two partitions (at least). Due to IDE hardware/driver issues in the stock beige G3, the OSX boot partition (the first partition on the disk) must be < 8GB. 7.97 will work.
Make sure you install the OS 9 drivers on the disk when formatting it.
Under OS9 memory dims, but partioning is available under one of the menu options in drive setup.
