In the recesses of my dim brain I seemed to remember there being something about a firmware update required for B & W's in order to install a G4 processor. I put the G3 back in hoping to get it to boot so I could get the patch and do the update. No boot, no joy.
So far I've unplugged the power supply from the motherboard and taken the PRAM battery out hoping to reset everything and get it to boot. Suggestions or solutions from any of you would be kindly appreciated.
Since the processor was used there was no documentation or software with it. I went to the OWC website and downloaded the firmware patch. Does any one know if the patch has to be run in OS 9 or X?
I'm on digest mode, if you don't mind CCing me, I would be grateful.
TIA
J. B.
