Bootable in 9.2.1, which is what I use on my Beiges. Should be bootable in earlier versions as well. Is also bootable in SCSI-based Macs (7200-9600, e.g.) using an ACARD "SCSI-IDE Bridge" (often available on eBay, also available from Microland USA, the ACARD distributor in the U.S.). With the SCSI-IDE Bridge, the -105, -106 and -107 (and many other drives) are compatible with Toast. I have used this combo on a 7300 to burn optical disks (CD-Rs, actually) using Toast. The ACARD "Bridge" makes the EIDE optical drive looks like a SCSI drive, which is actually quite easy for a hard drive, but is rather drive specific for a demountable, optical drive. The Pioneer optical drives get "two thumbs up" from me. (But, so also do the Yamaha SCSI drives, which I use as well). -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
