I took a 160G hd that was attached to an Acard ATA 133 serial controller in
my beige beast and just moved it, lock, stock and partitions (7.8G for OSX,
130G and 18G) over to my new 533 G4 Digital Audio. Since the G4 would only
see the first 127G of the 160G HD, I moved over the Acard controller over
also to the G4.

Everything worked fine. I just decided that I was going to rip most of my
Lps to MP3s and decided I was going to add a second HD, 120G. I hooked it to
the onboard ATA controller (BTW, speed tests with the 120G on the ATA 66 on
board are just as fast as the 160G on the Acard 133 controller). I used
Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the 7.8G system partition over to the freshly
formatted 120G HD with just one 120G partition.

I repaired permissions before I cloned and started using the 120G as my main
startup drive. I also repaired permissions after cloning. I am now having
some interesting problems.

When I double click on a document to open it (for example a jpg) I get a
warning saying approxiametly that "Opening this document with the
application Graphic Converter for the first time. Are you sure you want to
do this?". I click yes. If I close Graphic Converter, then double click the
same jpg, I get the same message each time I open it. This also happens when
I click the Mozilla icon in the dock, if Mozilla is not running.

I am also getting some interesting mouse (Logitech 2 button scroll wheel).
Once I have found something with the find command in the finder, not using
sherlock, I can double click it to open it, but I can not drag it from the
find window onto an icon (ie: onto the Graphic Converter icon). The finder
will not allow me to drag the icon at all.

I am trying to not have to reclone the drive (should it take more than 2
hours to clone about 6G?).

Anyone have any ideas on this problem, or do I just reclone the HD?

Thanks,
Len
