Answering my own question, sort of...
I ended up calling D-Link tech support. They couldn't figure out what to do, as there are no obviously configurable settings in the TCP/IP settings on OSX.
So I brought it back to the store, and ordered an Asante 10/100 card from macsales.com. That one should work. I shouldn't have tried to rush things by going to CompUSA...
At some point I'll probably want a couple gigabit ethernet cards for some Beige machines. Anyone know of a source of some that actually work for OSX/Beige?

Hey Folks,
New to the list.
I've got a Beige G3 running OS9.2.2 and/or OS 10.2.8. I just dropped in a new 10/100 PCI ether card (D-Link DFE-530TX+) and I'm having trouble getting full throughput out of it.
We're on a T1, and doing a speed test at 2wire.com will usually yield ~1200 or so on most of my machines. Going through this D-Link is coming up with high 500s at best. I can test side-by-side with another Beige's built-in ether, nearly simulataneously, and get 1200 on it. It's a brand new card, and I loaded the most recent drivers from the D-Link site.
Is there something on the Mac side of things that I need to change, or is this a card issue only. Duplex vs half-duplex?
Any clues appreciated.
