Here's another issue. I have a beige G3 running 9.2 and am not able to access any printers connected to my G4's running 10.3.4. Is this because OS 9 is looking for network printers via Appletalk? When I select USB Printer Sharing and click on Local Network instead of Appletalk, still nothing shows up. The shared printers on the G4's show up on each other but the shared printer on the OS 9 machine doesn't show up there either.....once again, is this an Appletalk problem? I have been able to put 10.2.6 on the beige and it runs "OK"........should I just put X back on it and leave it like that? There is no work around for the respective printers now show up?
Sorry if this point has already been asked and answered but I don't always read 'the entire message', especially when the response is below the original post.

FTP works great for our outside clients. I'm finding SMB works just fine for OS X and Windows based servers. I'm going to set up an Xserve later this year with Panther Server. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of performance I'll get out of it.
