This strikes me as an odd question. A Mac is good for anything you would use a computer for. Photography, music, video, programming, scientific calculation and research, number crunching, databases, file and print services, web hosting, finance, security systems, manufacturing, and so on. For example, one of the largest CD/DVD manufacturers in N America is exclusively OS X based.
