You stated that you took everything out then put it back one at a time. If you didn't do this with the RAM, try removing all of it then putting it back one stick at a time. Also try different slots. I had similar symptoms when one slot and ram stick when bad. Took a lot of screwing around to figure out the a good stick in the bad slot and the bad stick in a good slot caused weird start problems. Solid performance now that I've ceased the use of both the bad slot & the stick.
