Oh yeah?!I've got one in my G4 Sawtooth that has been running just fine with OS X from some version of Jaguar up through 10.3.5. Obviously not the same type of machine, but it suggests the card will work in other machines as well.Is the ATTO UL2D SCSI card compatible with OS X in a G3 Blue & White?I Hope so, I just purchased one on ebay for my Beige. My understanding was that it IS compatible.
Yeah.
This (compare above and below) is just more conflicting info. on SCSI controller cards, first the Adaptec 2940U2B and now this ATTO UL2D. I'm wondering if the folks who say they are using these cards in OS X are not sure which card they actually have
The UL2D was the standard SCSI card shipped with Sawtooths (when SCSI was ordered), but I still checked System Profiler before posting my first message just to make sure. I just now checked it again, and grabbed what it says about the card:
ATTO,ExpressPCIProUL2D:
Type: scsi-2 Bus: PCI Slot: SLOT-D Vendor ID: 0x1000 Device ID: 0x000b ROM Revision: 1.6.4f0 Revision ID: 0x0007
or have a somewhat "modified" card
I did install this: <http://www.attotech.com/software/driver3.html> firmware update, but being it's straight from ATTO I don't think it qualifies as "modified".
AND/OR if the manufacturers of these cards don't support them in OS X (so they say they are not compatible) but they actually work in OS X.
This is my guess. I know mine works, but of course everyone is free not to believe me if they wish.
And by the way, suggesting someone is an idiot and/or liar probably isn't the best way to get help with a problem.
