That's the obsolete chip, and is an indication that the motherboard is Rev. 1.

This machine will not support Slave drives.

In order to play DVDs, the best way is to get a Radeon 7000 and use its 
integral DVD decoder.

Get a Rev. B or C ROM to support Slaves.
