The terminator that came with the eBay purchased cable looks cheap and light duty (I was told it was passive) but it says "Ultra 160M Terminator LVD+SE ACT NEG+HVD ISO" on it. Looks nothing like other active negation terminators. Any termination suggestions here?
To complicate matters there is a SCA 80 pin to 68 (or 50) adapter ( no termination abilities) on the drive with jumpers that duplicate what is on the drive itself. Not sure whether to jumper one, the other or both. Since it is it's own bus I left the new drive set at ID 0. The card is supposed to be at 7, but since 10.2.8 profiler doesn't give that info....? I put a jumper on the SCA adapter at ID 3, still no drive.
I'm all ears (eyes?) for anyone's input.
I don't know the Beige G3 well enough to comment, however, my solution for all SCSI problems I have encountered is the wonderful folks at Granite Digital http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/indx_scsi.htm Their products are superb, their tech support staff great and their "The Book of SCSI" has bailed me out of a lot of problems.
