I want to ask an odd question, maybe just way to late but...

I have an Indigo iMac from 9/2000...I am HOPING to get a new 20" iMac...but I haven't dealt with OSX yet.

I am having a COW dealing with my son's Windows XP machine...the SPY ware, the browser hijacks, the popups, programs taking over, etc. MY mac does not do/allow this junk...does OSX allow this stuff at all? Is it still as tight and safe as OS9? I have been reading about it...but let alot of it run off my back, as I don't have it...but IF it gets like the Windows with all the JUNK on it, I will stay right where I am!

Quick comments, please?

Michele

OS X is the same as OS 9 with regards to spyware, popups, etc. We don't worry about things like that. I know what you mean about all the garbage that you get on Windozs. I have one Winblows 2000 machine on my network as my internet "server" for my Macs. It's a constant battle with all that crap on it. As soon as I can get a modem for my B&W 400, the Win 2k box is getting retired. Or maybe I'll convert it to Linux or BeOS!
