I have a QuickSilver that is at my shop, running DSL and directly connected

use for normal black/white printing. It has a jetdirect card and I have
installed a hub. The problem is that because of my non-static DSL, I
haven't been able to connect to this printer. It has no USB port, and there
is no parallel port on my QS.
How can I connect to this thing?
Same answer I just gave Bill about his laserwriter. Get a cable/dsl router, plug the DSL modem into the WAN port of the router, reset the DLS modem so the new MAC address is recognized, then plug your computer and the printer into the router. You might have to do a reset of the JetDirect (do a full reset of the 4050N from the front panel with the JD card in the system) and you should see the printer appear.
It will appear since these things do Appletalk automatically, you should just find it right aay in Print Center or chooser, depending on whether you're running OS X or OS 9.
A hub won't do it, since you need the router to act as a DHCP server and pass out IP addresses on the LAN side.
