I use them to allow me to print to the same printer with a non-ethernet Mac. Plus, 512, LC, etc. Also with the bridge box, my non-ethernet Mac's can access stored files on the NT/2000 servers running Service for Macintosh. Kind of OT to the original poster's intent.
