Hello everyone Wow what a lot of information here!
I got a G3 tower for FREE (freecycle providence yahoo group) and have souped it up with a Sonnet 800 mhz ZIF card and a 256 MB memory chip. I was on a snort and got a CDRW and DVD drive on ebay for cheeeep. Well the CDRW (Sony 230) is not supported with any CD burner software (Toast, Disc Burner, dragon burn, etc.) so I slapped it in the Windoze machine, works great. Now for the soon-to-be-here DVD - Pioneer SCSI 50 pin DVD model #U04S. I tried putting the Windoze old DVD drive in (a pioneer DVDROM DVD115GA) but no matter what i did (yes I know about jumpers, etc.) it wouldn't work. Still researching the soon-to-be-here U04S drive, tho. Oh this is a revision 2 tower (Gossamer motherboard from what I've read). I love this machine! Before this I had a souped up 7500 (to 400 mhz) and loved that. Just wondering if anyone else out there has had experience with this particular setup. I read about the Apple DVD player patch on ThinkDifferent, and if I don't hear anything from you brilliant people I will probably do that procedure. Thanks for any help and Mac is the BEST!!
