Hi John Well I have an IDE drive in there now, and it's working great. The new DVD drive is SCSI so I won't have a cable problem. I have the IDE drive in there where the old DVD nonworking drive was. It's connected to the mac cdrom and that's working great too. But swapping out IDE cables will be a good idea when I get the scsi DVD in, I'll be mucking about in there anyway, right?
