I've been playing with the X11 side of OS X too. The other day, I used 
Fink Commander to install kasteroids. I didn't think too much when it 
said it needed to intall 48 packages, but my B&W G3 upped to G4-500 took 
about 18 hours to d/l and install all relevant software.

But I've got a helluva game of asteroids now! :-)

Per the suggestion of some private emails that I've gotten, I have now 
subscribed to a G5 list and a OS X Unix list, so I won't be bothering
