Suggestions for a freeware/shareware utility to record audio files from the MIC/AUX audio input.
I purchased a pre-amp to connect my turn-table (not record player) to the audio inputs of my G4. As many of you old-timers can re-call music used to come on 12" black things that had two sides. I would like to convert most of my rare vinyl to MP3 for future listening and protection. Mac OS Classic has a GREAT app called Coaster for performing such a task but the author has not ported to Mac OS X. I was just curious if anyone has any suggestions for recording music through the audio port in Mac OS X. I am looking for a shareware/freeware app that allows for Gain Control and filtering of spikes. I imagine that there has to be something for Mac OS X. I don't need a $5,000 audio/video editing software package. I don't mind a two step copy to audio then rip MP3 process. If no one has any suggestions I will have to boot into Classic mode (If I can remember how) and fire up Coaster. Thanks -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
