Thanks for asking. I have checked the connections
between the motherboard and the drive.  Upon
inspection of the wiring harness, I notice that
further down the line, there is a spot wrapped in
electrical tape where the previous owner had ?made a
splice. I will check into that further.  Assuming that
the splice is ok, any other ideas? (I am trying to
rule out other problems before I get a new drive.)
