In my dealings with Eudora over the years it seems like I often end up with an extra Eudora folder (usually within the Eudora Application folder) that acts as a "master" application and settings when Eudora is automatically launched by another application or you don't use an alias of your own settings to launch it. I don't recall how or when that extra folder gets created. But as Dan says, getting rid of the extra one is the key.
