Which is better for cd-burning, Office, email, web browsing, iTunes,
GarageBand on OS 10.3 --- a single CPU 733mhz G4 powermac or a Dual-450 or
500mhz G4? I can't afford a new Mac, so I'm perusing eBay for a nice used
one. I would think the dual processor would be better, but the system bus,
cache, etc., also play a part. Unless both are easily upgraded....then the
dual wins hands down. I'm not so interested in gaming or DVD authoring, just
the above listed tasks.

I'd take the 733.

Why? What would be the pro's and con's of the 733 vs the dual-proc, other than the lower mhz, for these tasks? I'd love the higher mhz of the 733 and the digital audio, but would the dual 450 or dual 500 give me more overall bang for the buck, especially if ZIF upgrades are available? And while we're talking about sound, are there any decent sound cards available for the Mac, or is it all built in and that's it?
