If you are new to this, go with the Sonnet cards. They make it a point to not have jumper settings and such. Plug them in, install any software you need, and go. Everything is in the box and will run reliably.
OWC cards usually give you more bang for the buck, plus they can be overclocked; usually with a very high success rate. However, not everything is always included (depends on the model) and there are usually a number of settings that you might have to make. Top notch cards, I've bought at least half a dozen OWC upgrades since I discovered them in 2000, but they aren't always for the beginner. Not to scare you off, but this is a little bit tougher than installing RAM. However, if you feel confident, go ahead and try the OWC cards.
