I've done a few things before myself w/Macs but they were also "simple" -If I could do it, so can you. It was very simple. Sonnet's manual was clearly written
like adding USB ports, etc. to both my old Beige G3 and this Sawtooth. But
never anything with a processor.
and easy to understand.
I based my selection (Sonnet) on a MacAddict article (I don't remember
which issue - sorry). Sonnet was the easiest to install, and also required no
software installation.
I don't remember seeing a ZIF mentioned... sorry to be a newbie, but whatSorry, I got confused with another post. Yours will not be a ZIF upgrade.
is that and what's the difference from what I am considering?
Is there any reason to pay, say $250 for the product
from one company when another offers the exact same thing for $222? Why is
there such variation?
$250 vs $222. They are actually pretty close. Approx. 12% difference. You may find this site to be helpful or not. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/g4reviews.html
FYI - my baby is now down to $250.

I paid close to $350 last year. For that price, you can now get a 1.2GHz model.
