I know this has been discussed previously, but at the time I didn't have this need, but now I do. I am planning to connect my HP LJ5MP PostScript laser printer (parallel & Mac serial) to a B&W G3 running OS X (Panther).
I know there was some *nix software needed, but what and could someone list the steps of what to do ?
Actually if you're connecting via an OS X compatible USB> Parallel converter, it's simple.
Plug in the printer
Go to Print Center >Add new printer
Select USB
Select the printer.
Tell Print Center it's a HP LaserJet 5MP (installed with the rest of the HP drivers unless you did a custom install and didn't install them during OS X setup)
Click OK done.
