Caveat Emptor is a phrase to always keep in mind.
By the way, which G4 iMac is this? I thought the only G4 iMacs were the ones with the round base and the flat panel display......AND if this is the case, you should be VERY careful when opening it up. Possibly, if what I just stated is the case, YOU caused the problem by prying open a case that isn't supposed to be opened except by an experienced Apple Service Tech. (Sorry, the eMacs are G4's too).

the monitor lights turns on green and then a blinking orange.
