Hi,
I seem to remember having a similar problem with an HP and OS 9.2. It would happen whenever I made a backup of the entire disk. I would have to re-install from software or find a backup disk with the icon/file still intact and copy it onto the current start-up disk. Once the icon was re-established on the desktop, all was well again.
Yes that seems to be my problem... I actually CAN print (now!) from the Epson printers, but the HP 1300 laser is nonresponsive. The print job seems to go there, then just disappears. No printing, nada. And this "is" a desktop printer... though right now my mind is so messed up I don't even know what that really means. Other than that there is an icon on the desktop all the time for this particular printer.
When I go to Chooser - it IS chosen and "highlighted" on the desktop - just like it used to be. If I tried to go to "printer set up" though (in the Print Monitor) - to re-set that (with the new OS installed now) - I cannot do this. What the heck?
