That looks almost certainly video hardware related. As its a new G5, it's still under warrantee, right? Take a copy of that screencap (and the mac) to a local service place (if you have one) and get 'em to fix it.Bruce Johnson

I mispoke, it's the Address Book not the Mail Client. I have a mental block on referring to those two correctly. Other things as well but...
... your input still applies. Warranty, as you said, is still in effect. I e-mailed this group first so I could have an objective (and highly respected) op in hand, before hand.
Taking the machine to MY local authorized dealer is the LAST thing a sane person would want to do. Trust me.
I called Apple. It's a known issue. Just not currently known why. The bug report says, "not hardware, not software, blah, blah, blah" the tech guy himself mentioned that hardware is suspected.
As you said. See why I asked ya'll first?
Interesting that it doesn't happen in other programs?
Lesson learned, have a good back up computer around just in case Apple says, "Take it Back to the Dealer."
