> non Apple brand (Belkin, Netgear) etc.? Is there any advantage in picking
Apple over the others?

I picked up a D-Link Extreme PCI WiFi Card - 803.11g. It has the ability to
do 104Mb/sec. The native OS X Wireless drivers do not recognize the card
BUT... The 3rd party OrangeWare Wifi Driver works GREAT!!! It works in
Managed Mode and Add-Hoc Mode.

I tried a D-Link USB 803.11b WiFi adapter with the Mac OS X supported driver
(Supplied) and it was a total waste of time. Kernel Panics, poor signal
strength. I went on the Net and found out I was one of Hundreds that
purchased that crap.

I would recommend an Apple AirPort Extreme or AirPort Card if your system
has support for it before I used a 3rd Party PCI Card. Sonnet Sells a PCI
11g card to the best of my knowledge. I personally don't like tying up my
PCI slot with the wi-fi card.

A nother option would be to use a Ethernet to Wifi Game Addapter. I found
those units expensive but I would have saved my self a PCI slot.
