I looked on the APPLE.COM site. They do not appear to be selling the older OS's anymore. And they are NOT available for download, right??? WHere can I by LEGITIMATE copies?? Reasonably priced??
I got a Mac OS 9.2.1 Update CD Mac OS 9 Featuring Sherlock 2 version 9.2.1 1Z691-3362-A - ORANGE 9 with white label - Can I use that to upgrade an OS 8.X system?? I have two MAC G3s with slightly different versions of OS 8 on them. I want to upgrade one to OS9. ANd Dual boot one for OS X.?? and OS9. One is a Powermac G3/266, 32MB RAM. I bought a 256MB upgrade for one of those machines. I just downloaded and installed the OS 8.6 Upgrade from the Apple support site. Seems like a simple enough questions, right?? I have an upgrade that a bought - and plan to put it in one of those boxes. IT is an "Original" Apple G3 400 ZIF CPU Mac & Beige" I believe that and a RAM expansion will meet OS X needs. No doubt?? I have an OS X upgrade CD 10.1 but it is Blue and White (BLUE X)- I realize it has to have OS X installed already. That is why I am looking for an installable OS X CD. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreaciated. V/R, Leroy -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
