No, you do need a full version to go from 8.x to 9.x. It will make it easier for any way...you wont have to apply multiple updates to get to the most recent.
So I will have to purchase OS 9. Which you provided the link (thanks). Then I can use the OS 9.2 upgrade.
I provided the list of specs for the two beige machines I have -
to see if they would run OS 9 (I think so).
And OS X (the one that is expanded with 288M RAM and I plan to put that
upgrade CPU in there- Will EVENTUALLY run OS X).
OS X.2 will run on either machine, as will OS 9. The mo' ram you got the better off you will be. Panter and Tiger (10.3/4) will NOT run on the beige without jumping through hoops.
