There are a couple OS X books that I liked. "Mac OSX 10.3 Visual Quickstart" by Maria Langer; "Mac OS X Conversion Kit: 9 to 10 Side by Side" by Scott Kelby. "Mac OS X The Missing Manual" by David Pogue is good too.
