Sometime back I bought a 56k faxmodem from who-knows-who on the swap
list. I've yet to get it to work.

It's a 56k faxmodem, Sportster variety. I hooked it up, selected
the high-speed option on the modem control panel (the universal wouldn't
work at all), and it connected to my ISP.

Everything seems hunky dory, but I can't call up any websites.

Any idea what I'm missing? What's my next step?

Comparing with another computer that logs on just fine, my Modem,
TCP/IP, and Remote Access control panels all seem properly selected.

And the Remote Access panel SAYS that it's logged onto the Net. It's
just that no other app accesses the Net...
