OK, Bruce, so it should be possible to install the whole Gimp-Cups system in X,
according the the download package.  I dug through it and looked at the gui and
it looks very complete...lots of control of non-postscript printers that you
don't get through the propriatary drivers.  They appear to know what they are
doing.

The Cups system installs through web browser from a local page.  Oddly enough,
it requires a user name and password and mine, which work for everything else,
don't work for this.

I'm using Safari and my Java version is right up to date.

Any ideas?
