I am having strange periodic problems sending mail. When I connect to my ISP I can send mail through 66.59.162.165 but not through 66.59.162.166. This is listed as the router number in the Network system preferences. I am using a modem and therefore not going through a router.
You are always going through one and usually more routers unless the destination is on your LAN. In your case the first router is at your ISP.
My ISP claims not to recognize those numbers. Can anybody tell me what they refer to?
I am using a B&W 400 Mhz with the built in modem.
I'm not sure what you are saying in this message. Do you have Internet access, i.e. can you receive mail? Is it just that you can't send mail? What do you mean by periodic. What happens when you send mail? What OS and mail program are you using. Where did you get the IP numbers you listed and how are you using them.
