I have a Beige G3 300mhz Rev1 RevA 384mb RAM. I was running 10.2.8
which loaded without XPF. I am on internal video as well. I was
holding off on loading panther because I was still using the internal
video. Then based on info in this thread I went ahead and loaded
Panther last night.

It took a while, but it loaded and everything works well except one
thing. the finder starts and then stops, repeatedly. It is sitting
there in the dock without an arrow under it. When I click on it, it
tries to start but then ends and sits there without an arrow under it.
I also have no desktop icons at all.

I can start programs from the dock, but I can not get to any drives
because when I click on the finder it does that same thing, and there
are no desktop icons to click on.

I have restarted multiple times. And there is no change. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

I do plan on adding a Radeon 7000 and a G4/500 zif to this machine in
the next couple of months. I was hoping to have a working machine now
though.

thanks in advance.

take care,
Kevin Avery
