Basically, if you drop anything in a FedEx box without the proper shipping label and they are not being compensated for delivery, I feel it's not FedEx's place to expend the time, energy and effort to get it to the person who put in in the wrong box in the first place. FedEx and most other large express and freight companies handle so many packages a day, a reasonable person can't expect them to get out of system to handle a single package without a proper label and without a tracking number. They are so structured that without the airbill number, they have no way to track any package. Anyway, the person who emptied the drop box just piles it on the conveyor at the hub and since it didn't meet the requirements, it was placed to the side. Some employee, who is probably doing his job as well as someone elses, looked at the box and since there was no airbill, it was placed on the "dead shelf" (a friend who works for a well known package company told me about the dead shelf). After it sits there long enough, it's forwarded to a central location where along with thousands of other untraceable packages, it is sold in a large lot at auction.

If it was my mistake, I'd write it off to being my own fault and quit whining. I definitely wouldn't smear a good vendor who specializes in Macintosh upgrades for not covering my own screwup. There are few enough sources for Mac stuff left these days.

On a happier note, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

James

So what you are saying that any thing that comes to FedX without the proper shipping label is theirs to keep? I called FedEx and they knew nothing about it.

Everything you are describing is a problem with Fed Ex, and nothing to indicate that OWC is at fault.

Because the address were not bad My address and OWC address were both good addresses! And if a package has good addresses then the sender or receiver should be contacted.
