Unless I'm mistaken, the G3 has room for 4 total drives. 3 Externals and 1 internal. You should have one HDD mounted above the power supply, 1 in an expansion bay, and the CDRW in an expansion bay, and 1 empty. Unless you have a B&W, then all bets are off as I never owned one and so don't know the internal specs off the top of my head. You will probably want a drive bezel for the new DVD drive. MacGurus used to have them although it doesn't appear that they do now.

Hope that helps,

Brian

Hi Nathan,

I don't know of a way to achieve what you want without resorting to a 3rd party card. I too would be interested to know if there is such a way.

On the other hand, if you do opt to go for a 3rd party card, one that looks worth considering is the Sonnet Tech 'Tempo Trio' card.

For a listing of their PCI cards, try: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/pci_adptrs.html

And specifically, for the Tempo Trio card, try: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/pci_adptrs.html

Has anyone experience and opinions on this particular card?

I'm considering getting one for my aging beige G3 266 mHz.

Cheers,

Bill

        Fellow Listers,

Have a delema of sorts. With my G3/300 tower.. I would like to add a newly aquired dvd drive... However.. I already have 2 hd's and a CDRW on board.. Is there anyway to add this drive under 10.2 with the onboard controllers? Or do I have to invest in a third party card?
