I tried putting both drives to cable select, just to have the flashing "?" after the 1 minute delay and "can't OPEN:" (I timed it to see how long it took to hit Open firmware), so I had to put it back to Master/slave. If it makes any difference:
ROM revision: $77D.45F1 pulled directly from Apple System Profiler, which is now reporting that I have a "300 MHz" ZIF running at 433 with 3x64MB RAM, so I am set pretty well for os 9.1. I am just going to use this just for iTunes just to play music while I try to break more of my computer equipment and for email and web if I am successful! Thanks for the ideas. BTW, before I even started this project, the logic board had no battery, and after I installed a new one, I hit the reset button, though didn't zap PRAM by hitting cmd-opt-p-r. I have the ROM chip from my original logic board yet. I maybe could try that. I do know that it has been updated so it will run os x. Bryan -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
