Hello,
You can use itunes or realplayer to play streaming radio in mac os 9. I 
have a 1400 running os 8.6 with a wireless card that plays streaming 
radio through my home stereo system. It works really great.

If you want to run itunes on a pre osx machine, you have to use an old 
version of itunes.
