Yeah, it went from achnowleding that an 8600 isnt as fast as newer computers to an all out insult on the PCI powermacs. First of all, a 200MHz 604e is much faster than a PII of the same speed...lets just get that straight. Second, NewerTech achnowledged that bus speed isnt that important on G3s because of the backside cache speed...its fast. So the bus speed isnt all out important. Bus speeds didnt get past 100MHz until the digital audio, which as of about a week ago would have sold for about 700 dollars on eBay. If someone has a G4 upgraded PCI powerMac theyll run OS X just fine, plenty quickly, and all while using a computer made in the Mid 90s. So, if someone has a PCI PMac, and they want to run OS X...which makes more sense...spend $100 on a G4 upgrade, or spend (what used to be until the MacMini came out) $400 on a whole new computer? I still think the PCI PMacs have plenty of life in them...
